Hi, we’re Gizem and Serdar, a couple who travel slowly and write it down properly.
Mind the Map is a set of guides to the places we have actually been. Each one answers the questions you have before you book: how to get in from the airport, which neighbourhood to stay in, how many days you need, which museums are free and when, what to eat, and what we wish someone had told us.
When something goes wrong on the road, it goes into the guide. A frozen runway in Kiruna taught us to sleep a night in town before anything we cannot refund. A closed sky station taught us to check seasons before choosing dates. That is the point of the whole thing: so it goes right for you.
How we check
Every fact in a guide is checked against two sources, usually Wikipedia and the official site (the transport company, the museum, the national park). Prices are what we paid or what the official site lists, with the month we checked. Times and prices change, so we always tell you where to look before you go.
What a place teaches
We also notice what a place does to people: the patience Abisko asks of you, the quiet friendliness of Stockholm. One line of that goes into every guide.
Real trips. Honest guides.
